Our patient in this video didn’t get better with a steroid shot so we did a PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection which is an anti-inflammatory and orthobiologic injection from her own blood done in the office in about 30 minutes. She has done fantastic in the month since the procedure as she relates in the video. Results always vary based on clinical factors. PRP injections are one of the two types of orthobiologic injections we do at the Dallas PRP and Stem Cell Clinic. We also do bone marrow derived stem cell injections for many different orthopedic indications.
FDA issues warning letter to US Stem Cell/Kristin Comella Over Advertising and Using Adipose SVF for Stem Cells
Today the FDA issued a warning letter (http://bit.ly/fdausstemcell) to US Stem Cell and their Chief Scientific Officer, Kristin Comella, giving them 15 days to stop their current practice of using stromal vascular fraction (adipose tissue) for multiple medical conditions.
Topics include basic stem cell science, current best practices for PRP/Stem Cells, hands on training stem cell harvesting, and how to weed out the sales and marketing scams with amniotic fluid and umbilical cord blood being sold as stem cell injections.
The whole process takes 45 minutes… see the short video below done by Christopher Centeno, MD which simply explains why those facilities selling these products as “stem cell” injections are committing consumer fraud. If you want a real stem cell injection….it has to come from your own body in the USA right now!
Last Friday I saw two patients for evaluation for possible stem cell treatment for painful knee arthritis. Both patients were on medications, had received multiple knee steroid shots, and one had even had one of the “gel” knee injections that go under the trade names like “Synvisc” or “Hyalgan”. One of the patients also had been prescribed an unloader brace but didn’t want to wear it anymore.

Chronic Achilles Tendinitis or partial tearing…treated with a PRP injection under ultrasound guidance
Patient has chronic achilles tendinitis and has failed to improve in 5 months with other treatments.
This patient is in his 50’s and has advanced hip arthritis bad enough for a surgeon to recommend a hip replacement. After less invasive treatments did not help, we did a bone marrow derived stem cell injection into the right hip in the office. No surgery, no general anesthesia, no joint replacement, and done in less than an hour. You can hear how he is doing in his own words here. Results vary…this is meant to be one example!
